About Cherrell

With over 15 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside children, teens, young adults, and families during some of their most challenging and defining moments. I have worked extensively with military families navigating special education systems, survivors of trauma, and managing the cumulative effects of chronic stress. Including relocations, deployments, shifting roles, and how high pressure environments can quietly shape emotional and family life. Clients often seek therapy to address complex issues that don’t fit into a single category, such as persistent anxiety, challenging behaviors, parenting difficulties, or simply a sense that something is “off.” My role is to create a structured, supportive environment where we can clarify underlying issues and build practical tools to make daily life more manageable. My approach is collaborative and skills focused, integrating evidence based practices such as CBT and Mindfulness strategies in a way that is applicable to your life outside of our sessions. The objective is for you to leave feeling not just heard, but more confident and better equipped to handle challenges related to emotional regulation, anxiety, life transitions, or family stress. I earned my Master of Social Work (Magna Cum Laude) from Liberty University and hold an LMSW licensure in Maryland, Virginia, and Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSWI) in Florida. This foundation in prevention, advocacy, and clinical support shapes my flexible and grounded approach to care. Therapy is a process that meets you where you are, and that is always my goal as a counselor.

Philosophy of Care

What I love most about working in child and family mental and behavioral therapy is the opportunity to advocate, encourage, and support children and families as they navigate life’s challenges. I’m passionate about helping families build resilience, strengthen communication, and celebrate progress, no matter how small.
As a military spouse, I deeply understand how family dynamics, transitions, and stressors can impact well being. Family is my priority, and I bring that perspective to my work, creating a space where parents, caregivers, and children feel heard, empowered, and supported.

Happiness is…

Loving and living with purpose.

Fun Fact

I have lived in 3 different countries.

At Home

I love traveling and staying active running, lifting weights, and dancing are my go to ways to move and recharge. I also love going to Disney, where I can embrace a little magic and wonder in every visit. When I’m relaxing, you’ll find me listening to audiobooks and music, or cooking, exploring new flavors and recipes
