The world is full with beautiful, jaw dropping, stunning scenery. We haven’t seen it all, but it’s on our list! From all nature sights we’ve viewed, here’s our top 15.
1. Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, USA
Have you ever seen such unbelievable beauty? It’s right there in Utah. You can go horseback riding through these pillars and be amazed by stunning scenery.
2. Victoria Road in Australia
Victoria in Australia is also home to the cutest Koalas. Australia was amazing and Victoria Road was a stunning part of it. With our minivan where we cooked and slept we covered a huge part of Australia.
3. Sanqingshan National Park in Jiangxi, China
Yep, that’s me. This amazing national park is not that touristy as the Avatar Mountains. In China this means it’s still overly crowded but at least you can walk instead of wander and wait as you would have to do at the Avatar Mountains.
4. Queen Charlotte in New Zealand
New Zealand is still on top of our list. They have such stunning scenery. Breathtaking. Queen Charlotte is just a small part of New Zealand where we took tons of pictures.
5. Jökulsárlón Glacier in Iceland
We’ve never seen so much glaciers in one day as we did in Iceland. You don’t have to visit national parks for Iceland’s stunning scenery. You can drive in your rented van and stop alongside the road to be amazed by ice, waterfalls, geysers, mountains and more. Interested? Check out our post A Guide To Iceland’s Ring Road In 10 Days.
6. Whitsundays in Australia
To see Whitsundays in Australia you have to arrange a boat tour. You can choose a party boat or do as we did and choose a beautiful sailor boat with only 7 tourists and sail for two days in crystal blue waters and sleep in the sail boat.
7. Yangshuo in China (Yulong River)
Karst scenery and bamboo trees, what a peaceful and beautiful environment to walk along the Yulong river. We didn’t stay at touristy Yangshuo but booked a hostel 5 kilometers north of Yangshuo. The name of the hostel is Yangshuo Wada Hostel Yulong River. Best choice ever. You can eat delicious food at various restaurants or hostels and it’s so peaceful. It’s a good place to unwind from crowded China.
8. Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, USA
Immense mountains and waterfalls, it’s all in amazingly huge Yosemite National Park. This was one of our first trips together but we still don’t forget the stunning scenery we viewed.
9. Milford Sound in New Zealand
Snow capped mountain and beautiful waters in New Zealand on the Southern Island. And New Zealand has much more stunning scenery. As we said before, this country is on top of our list.
10. Krka Waterfalls in Croatia
Croatia is touristy, yes definitely. But still worth a visit. Look at that gorgeous waterfall. Keep in mind you have to pay entrance fees and you’re not alone.
11. Zhangjiajie National Park (a.k.a. Avatar Mountains) in China
So this is what I was talking about earlier. It’s crowed, too crowed. Even off season. Most of the time you’re standing still or trying to push your way through too many people. And taking shuttle buses from one spot to another also isn’t my idea of enjoying a national park. But it’s still surprisingly beautiful. Although I have to admit I enjoy watching the pictures more than being at the National Park itself.
12. Snow capped mountains at Annapurna Region in Nepal
One of our latest travels is Nepal. And for this one we saved a spot in our top 15. What a stunning scenery! It’s so immense. You can see the river flowing down there. It was difficult to pick just one picture out of all stunning pictures we took.
13. Pacific Coast Highway from Los Angeles to San Francisco in California, USA
We drove from Los Angeles to San Francisco and were pleasantly surprised by this beautiful coast line. The stunning coast line goes on for hours. We had to stop every once and a while to take pictures.
14. San Blas Islands in Panama
Idealistic, white sand beaches and crystal blue waters, it’s San Blas Islands. It’s hard to get there and will cost you a lot of money. Don’t expect any luxury. You can stay for a night in a wooden hut with many insects. No flushing toilets and no shower. But hey, it’s just for one night.
15. Jiuzhaigou National Park in Sichuan, China
Another national park in China. This waterfall is only one sight of the park. Besides waterfalls, this park has gatorade blue waters. Allright, allright, we’ll give you one bonus picture of these ‘gatorade’ blue waters.
We are constantly adding new destinations to our bucket list. What is the most beautiful place you’ve ever visited?
