Hello! I'm Sarah Andoh-Kesson, a psychotherapist with experience supporting children, adolescents, and young adults (0-21) across a range of emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs for 3 years. I earned my Bachelors in Social Work at Salisbury University and my Masters in Social Work at The University of Oklahoma. I've worked extensively with youth and families in the foster care system, and have helped individuals navigate challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, behavioral concerns, and life transitions. I was drawn to this line of work because I want to be the person/therapist I needed as a child to other youth and young adults. My philosophy of care is: I believe healing happens within safe, trusting relationships where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. My main approach is trauma-informed and strengths-based, honoring each young person’s unique story while supporting them in building emotional awareness, resilience, and healthy coping skills. I strive to create a space where young clients can show up as they are and begin to make sense of their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a developmentally appropriate pace. I recognize that behavior is often communication, and I work to understand what each child or teen is trying to express beneath the surface. When aligned with the client’s values, I also incorporate faith-based perspectives that emphasize hope, grace, and restoration, supporting healing of the mind, heart, and spirit. I believe that growth is possible even in the midst of difficulty, and that every young person has inherent worth, purpose, and the capacity for change.
